In my previous comment I was referring to the suspicion over who the writer of Decoration Street is and the accusations aimed at teachers in the Academy by members of the SMT.
The state of the school is appalling in general, especially with referance to facilities and the treatment of Teachers and Students alike. Something has to be done but wider support is clearly needed, hence my full support of this petition.
As for the association between myself and Angry Parent #2... I don't know who that is and we are in no way corresponding, I'm using a computer at DC so perhaps 'Angry parent #2' was doing the same.

Surely posting at school can't be that bad? Considering we're on a network, the IP address they get will be the same for all the computers - that's hardly going to narrow down their search. And what would they realistically do to a student reading it? Maybe I'm just naive, but I'm thinking they can't really kick out a student for reading it.

Please...everybody who belives that things must change at DC...please attend the "communication meeting" at the school on Tuesday at 5pm. The letter was to parents, but teachers and senior students should also attend to voice their opinions and support. If something isn't done now....now...before the end of term, then the next Head who is appointed will not be able to carry out the job and the cycle will continue. If the current Board continues...especially, or predominantly, the Chairman...then things will not change........eventually, the other new international schools in Doha will grow and replace DC but in the meantime, those of us with vested interests now will suffer .....DC can be rescued, but it's up to the interested parties to save it. No complaints without action.

Any chance of the minutes of that meeting being posted here? Do I perhaps sense another soap episode in the offing?

Indeed there is, J-P. Torn between writing one that predicts what will happen and one based on what does happen. Tempted to do the former simply because I got it so right about Beecham. Message to posting parents: Go for it! After all, things have got so bad that there is even a website deicted to exposing the place's shortcomings. I promise you and them that if they make some sort of effort to get it right, DS will stop. That might just give you some leverage. Have no fear though. A spin-off series set somewhere in the Iberian peninsula is on the cards. It will be called: DELDORADOSoap fans of a certain age will get the joke! All you younger ones can read about it here. Its fate foreshadows that of Del in Iberia, methinks. It should be fun! en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eldorado_(soap_opera)

How many parents, teachers and students are out there willing to attend the Wednesday meeting (5pm on the 20th at DC) and support the thrust for change? Please spread the word and reply to this so that we can guage the level of feeling. Thank you.
